Quality Assurance
Our quality assurance program is based on prevention of defects and continuous improvement and includes calibration, inspection and testing, process controls, and supplier quality assurance.
Quality assurance patrols augment the assembly and fabrication teams, allowing a proactive approach to problem resolution and any necessary corrective action. Potential problems are identified and resolved early in the processes, thereby reducing costs.
Measurement and Testing Capabilities
(Subject to change. Updated information available upon request.)
Most of our internal QC standards exceed ASME minimums, and we regularly work toward even more stringent customer requirements. Third party inspection services are welcomes as required by customers.
Inspection Capabilities
Two highly accurate portable measurement arms manufactured by FARO Technologies Inc. These FaroArms deliver guaranteed measurement accuracy as low as +/-0.0040 inches (+/0.102mm). From single parts to complex assemblies the FaroArm's offer high precision measurement by integrating Computer-Aided Manufacturing Measurement (CAM2) for all inspection needs. FARO will also make all the data and engineering recommendations necessary to correct any manufacturing problems before production begins. Inspection software can be used for CAD-to-part analysis or simple go/no-go measurements.
In addition, we have standard inspection equipment for any application, such as:
- Large high-precision, granite surface plates
- Hand measuring tools and precision gauges such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges and gauge blocks.
- Many specially designed and built inspection jigs and templates to check parts that cannot be checked on conventional inspection instruments.
All measurement and test equipment are tracked and calibrated periodically and traceable to NIST standards at all times.
Testing Capabilities
Delafield's testing procedures meet all applicable military and commercial specification. Pressure testing to at least 2 times operating pressure is accomplished on finished assemblies with capabilities for underwater pneumatic (Nitrogen) testing of up to 11,200 psig, hydrostatic (water) capability of up to 55,000 psig. Our vacuum leak DuPont SSA Mass spectrometers are capable of testing up to 50ft in continuous lengths with minimum detectable Helium rate of 1x10ˉ9 atm-cc/sec.
Non Destructive Testing (NDT) is available through approved outsourcing partners including Liquid Dye Penetrant, Zyglo® Fluorescent Penetrant, Magnaflux®, and Radiographic Inspection.
