Our quality assurance program is based on prevention of defects and continuous improvement and includes calibration, inspection and testing, process controls, and supplier quality assurance.

Quality Assurance patrols augment the assembly and fabrication teams, allowing a proactive approach to problem resolution and any necessary corrective action. Potential problems are identified and resolved early in processes, thereby reducing the cost of quality.

Delafield Corporation has established its quality control and quality assurance system in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001 and AS 9100. This system, recognized and accepted by our various government and commercial customers, is applied to all production programs at Delafield Corporation. Delafield has received Quality Systems Approvals from Defense Contract Management Command Center and from other customers. Delafield also is in compliance with the requirements of the AS 9100 and the AS9102 standards while capturing all characteristics of a product including both drawing requirements and those contained in specification documents.

Delafield utilizes a computer/server-based MRP system to control all phases of manufacturing including purchasing, inventory, work orders, documentation control, quality control and accounting. All four facilities have full access to the MRP system.

Two highly accurate portable measurement arms manufactured by FARO Technologies Inc. and ROMER (Hexagon Metrology Inc.) Inc. The Faro Arm (uses a contact probes) deliver guaranteed measurement accuracy as low as +/-0.0040 inches (+/-0.102mm), while the Romer Arm (uses non contact probes) has a measurement accuracy as low as +/- 001 inches (+/- 0.027 mm).

From single parts to complex assemblies, the two Arms offer high precision measurement by integrating Computer-Aided Manufacturing Measurement for all of inspection needs. They will also make all the data and engineering recommendations necessary to correct any manufacturing problems before production begins. Inspection software can be used for CAD-to-part analysis or simple go/no-go measurements.

Delafield’s testing procedures meet all applicable military and commercial specifications. Pressure testing to at least 2 times operating pressure is accomplished on finished assemblies with capabilities for underwater pneumatic (Nitrogen) testing of up to 10,000 PSIG, hydrostatic (water) capability of up to 15,000 psig. Our vacuum leak Leybold Phoenix Vario Mass spectrometers are capable of testing up to 50ft in continuous lengths with min. detectable Helium rate of 4.9X10-12 atm-cc/sec.

Non Destructive Testing (NDT) is available through approved outsourcing partners including Liquid Dye Penetrant, Zyglo fluorescent penetrant, magnaflux, and radiographic inspection.
